As the summer has officially started and the temperature continues to rise over the upcoming months, cooling luxury homes will be significantly more expensive. However, there are many ways that can help homeowners to beat the summer heat while reducing the utility bills and saving money as well.

Here are the useful tips to cool off luxury homes this Summer and to help homeowners in creating a refreshing atmosphere cost-efficiently

Apart from the warming benefits, insulation can also help homeowners to cool their homes.  Having a sufficient insulation in home can enhance energy-efficiency. During the summer, attics without adequate insulation can increase the temperature of a home, forcing air conditioners to work harder and consume more power.

One effective way to use air conditioners efficiently is to turn it off when you don’t need it. When you’re at home, setting the thermostat at 78 degrees can help reduce the power consumption. Maintaining the filter clean can lower your energy usage by 5 to 15 percent and can actually keep indoors air clean and healthy.

Never underestimate the power of fans to chill the air inside luxury homes. Consider giving air conditioners a rest on cool nights. Fans use up minimal energy than air conditioners.

Like energy-efficient windows, trees on the south and west sides of a home can be a natural air conditioner that can reduce indoor temperature. Additionally, keeping your air conditioner units in the shade can reduce energy consumption by up to 10 percent.

Getting rid of those additional heat sources can make luxury homes much cooler this summer. Instead of using incandescent bulbs that waste a great amount of energy in the form of heat, use compact fluorescent or LED bulbs for more efficiency. The same effect is produced by long hot showers, increasing temperature and creating humidity. In the hottest time of the day, prevent from using dishwasher, dryer and oven or minimize their heat output by using them in their reasonable settings. Use a thermometer to make sure that refrigerators are in their suitable temperature levels. Toss the older models because they are significantly inefficient.
